Fox and Bear Community

January 28, 2022 

This week we started learning about the biomes of Africa.  The children are excited to start researching about these areas and we will also be working on building dioramas to display our knowledge of these amazing habitats.

We are working hard to teach the children the value of caring for their materials.  We have purchased drawstring bags for the children to store their headphones in.  These will then be hung in the classroom so that the children will be able to keep their headphones clean and safe.  If your child has not yet brought in headphones to keep in the classroom please do so now.  If you are able to purchase any extra sets to donate to children in need we would greatly appreciate it!

We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Monday, February 14th.  We will be exchanging valentine cards that can either be homemade or purchased.  Please encourage your child to write out their cards independently.  Below is a list of the names of the children in the fox and bear community.  A paper copy of this list is also located in your child's take home folder.

Fox and Bear Community

This week the children heard the great lesson of the coming of life to the Earth.  The children will continue this study by exploring early human cultures and the continent of Africa where the first humans originated.  Encourage discussions at home discussing the origins of the world and the beliefs that your family holds in relation to how the world began.

Each child should have their own individual water bottle and headphones labeled with their name to keep in their bookbag.

  

Parent Discussion Night

Important Information!

Please make sure that your child has a set of headphones that they can keep in their backpacks.  Your child will also need to have a reusable water bottle to keep hydrated throughout each day as the drinking fountains are closed.  The students will need to continue to be diligent with hand washing and social distancing to ensure their health and safety in the school building.
