The children sang beautifully for our peace celebration on Wednesday.  They also brainstormed ways that our world could become more peaceful.  Please ask your child what their idea for peace might be!

This week we have introduced our study of Australia.  We will be studying the biomes, animals, and people of the region.  We will also be crafting musical instruments so please send in a tube/cylinder of some sort.  Paper towel rolls, gift wrap rolls, poster tubes, etc.  Toilet paper tubes will be too short.

We will be building a parent group using the book “Positive Discipline in the Montessori Classroom” by Jane Nelson and Chip DeLorenzo.

Books will be available to check out but you are also welcome to join us even if you don’t want to read the book.  All sessions do not need to be attended for you to be welcome.

We have introduced the children to their cosmic addresses and their places in the world.  They are enjoying our new cosmic nesting boxes and keep on the look out for the cosmic address books that they will be completing.

Tommorow, Friday, September 2, the children will be experiencing a half day e-learning day.  The expectation will be for the children to log into Classlink, to It's Learning, and then click on Foxes and Bears.  The children will have a class zoom meeting at 8:30.  When the meeting concludes, children will be able to choose work from their choice board to turn in on Tuesday.  Additionally, children will have the opportunity to follow their i-ready learning paths.  The school day will end at 11:15.  Please contact us with any questions or concerns.  Ms. Kirsten will be having a medical procedure on this day so if you are having difficulties with anything, you will need to contact Ms. Jess directly.

The lower elementary classes have the following homework expectations:

• Read for 20 minutes each night either independently or with family members
• If you child has access to technology at home please encourage them to follow their i-ready paths and/or amira
• Math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication or division)
