Fox and Bear Community

Boosterthon is well under way and the children are thrilled to be reaching our 20,000 goal.  The children have also earned several in class incentives that will be listed below.  Thank you for your participation along with your child.  We have a lot of upcoming events happening here at the school this week so be sure to read this blog entirely!  Here are the special days for your child to celebrate this week.

Tuesday, February 27          Sock Day-No shoes in the classroom

Wednesday, February 28    Crazy Hair Day

Thursday, February 29       Fun Run-Bring a board game to play in the afternoon

Friday, March 1                   Bring a stuffed animal to school day (must fit in bookbag)

                                               Children earned pizza and a movie in the afternoon

3rd Grade Parents and Students:

All third grade students will be taking the GMAS (Georgia Milestone Assessment System) at the end of April/Beginning of May.  It would behoove your child to practice at home.  We will also be working with the children to help them prepare here at school.  Below are two links that can be used at home for GMAS preparation.

The boosterthon starts on Wednesday, February 21st.  Please register your child ASAP at MyBooster.com.  Children will receive their first incentive prize just for registering.  The children love this activity and the race will take place on Thursday, February 29.

Fox and Bear Community

The children enjoyed decorating their Valentine boxes today.  If your child did not get to decorate their box today, we will give them time to do it tomorrow (Tuesday). Your child is welcome to bring in Valentine's cards on Wednesday to share with their classmates.  We will be learning to write formal letters this week and the children will be seeking out the best in their peers and writing them letters.  We are taking time this week to celebrate friendship!

Fox and Bear Community

This week the children will be studying plants and birds on our tree of life.  On Friday, we will be hearing from many community members about their chosen careers.  Please be sure to ask your child about the jobs that they hear about it.  

The children will be celebrating Valentine's day on February 14th.  Please send in a shoebox or shoebox sized box by February 9th.  If you have extras, please feel free to send them as well.  You have received an email attachment of the class list.  We will also send paper copies of this list home this Friday.  Let us know if you have any questions.
