We had a great field trip to Massie House last week! Students enjoyed learning about American Indians native to this region. They learned about artifacts and had the chance to sculpt their own with clay.

On Friday, we will be building a snack cornucopia to share in the afternoon. Please send a sandwich bag of your child's favorite dry snack. We will then mix them together to share. (ex: nuts, pretzels, crackers, cereal, dried fruit etc.)

Please note that our field trip for Musical Explorers is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving break (12/3). Field Trip permission forms are coming home today. Please return ASAP.

We need to replenish our supply of hand-held enclosed pencil sharpeners. If you can send one or several in, please do so. We appreciate you!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Winn-Dixie picnic last week! The students prepared and enjoyed all the elements of the picnic in the story: egg salad sandwiches, pickles, punch, pictures of dogs, and music on the guitar. Last week, they also enjoyed some festive, educational activities including a scavenger hunt with fun facts about Halloween and lessons on the parts of a pumpkin. We carved a pumpkin, practiced estimating and counting by 10s for the seeds, and seasoned and roasted the seeds for a snack.

This week we are looking forward to starting language talks focused on the parts of speech in addition to our weekly math talks. Note that tomorrow, Tuesday, 11/5, is an E-Learning day. Students will not come to school, but will complete assignments from home. The November choice board can be found here. Students should aim to complete 2-3 activities. They can also use Class link to practice iReady and Amira.
