Fox and Bear Community

Happy (almost) October! We are looking forward to working on the study of clouds as well as clock work - ranging from telling time to the hour and half hour for younger students to calculating elapsed time for our older students. For our cloud study, we are in need of cotton balls and would greatly appreciate any donations. A list of  needed classroom supplies is below. Thank you for your generous support.

Paperwork:

Beginning-of-the-Year Assessment Scores/Literacy Screeners were sent home on Friday, 9/19. Please remove from folders along with your student's workplan and return empty folders on Wednesday. 

Montessori Professional Development:

Fox and Bear Community

We hope you have been enjoying the beautiful weather recently. Students have enjoyed Nature Journaling in their small groups in the afternoons. They collect and inspect items found in nature and write and draw about their discoveries. 

Workplans: Please remove the contents from your students folders each Tuesday and discuss their work plans with them. The expectation is that students complete 15-20 works per week, aiming for one in each of the following categories each day: Writing, Language, Cultural, Math, and Daily Math practice.

Conferences: We will hold family conferences in October. A sign up schedule will be emailed out next week. Please be on the lookout and reach out if the times offered do not work for your schedule.

Fox and Bear Community

Happy September! We are excited to have all of our beginning of the year assessments completed. We are ready for a regular week of lessons and Montessori work! We will send out beginning-of-the-year scores and information about conferences by the beginning of October. 

Folders and School Pictures

Folders are coming home today. Please discuss your students work plan with them. School pictures will come home tomorrow (Wednesday). Please take and purchase what you'd like to keep and return the rest. All payment and returned photos are due by Friday, 9/12. 

Field Trips    

We're in the process of planning some exciting field trips for the year. All information and permission forms will be sent home by the end of the month.
