The First Great Lesson

Hello Parents!   

We have had an amazing first full week of school. The children have been sharing about themselves and it feels like a great community already! The children received the introduction to the first great lesson on Thursday. We will be spending the next few weeks exploring the galaxy and life on planet earth. The children will be trading creation stories will and also be participating in some great home experiments using materials that should be standard in most households. It is our goal to make things as simple and enriching as possible for all students!

Please note that the students will be starting to use work plans this coming week.  When the children log into ITS Learning each day, the work plan will be the first item at the top of their plan.  The work that is listed below will include headings that will match the work plan. It should be each child's goal to complete the following work each day and then mark it on their individual plans and submit the plan at the end of day.   

Daily Work Expectation

• Journal Writing
• Daily Lesson (this work is marked with an (L) on the work plan to signify its importance)
• Math
• Language
• Reading
• Cultural (All work that does not fit into the above categories is considered "cultural" work).

Fox and Bear Office Hours

Each morning, Ms. Jess and Ms. Kirsten are available from 7:30-8:30 to meet with parents through an open zoom meeting. If you have questions or concerns please log into this zoom meeting. We would like to save student meeting times for the children but we also want to be available to you on a daily basis. This would be the best time and place for us to show you how to use features of ITS Learning. The platform will be more streamlined in the future as we are focusing our studies on specific topics and concepts.
