Hello Parents,We hope that you have all had a wonderful week! We are getting started on some new cultural studies. Over the course of the next few weeks we will be studying the Earth in several interesting ways. We will be focusing on weather, geography of the planet, and geology (with a focus on fossils and dinosaurs). The children should enjoy the works ahead! There will be lots of new work in the Cultural plan over the course of the coming weeks!

Our challenge for the week is for all foxes and bears to log into AMIRA so we are able to get a baseline of their reading development. So far, we have approximately 20 of the 39 children logged in and reading. The program has had some glitches so please let us know if your child has been unable to log in ASAP. This program is odd to many of the children but it is so valuable for them and for us! We don't have the opportunity to read one on one with the children very often on line and we are able to log in and listen to the students read with AMIRA and then form plans for development. The county has the expectation that your child read on AMIRA 3 times weekly. We are hoping that you appreciate the changes we are making to the It's Learning Platform. You will notice that the work plan and the Blog planning sheet are similar and it is no longer an attached PDF but instead, a document that you can be followed or printed out by the students from the assignment. The informational writing will be submitted from the assignment as well. Additionally, we hope that you are aware that there is an It's Learning App that you can download to your phone. Some parents have had great success with the ease of using this App so you may want to download it and check if it is helpful. Weekly Overview for October 5-9
