We are continuing our study of Europe. This week we looked at the different biomes around the world as well as in Europe.

We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Tuesday, February 14th. We will be exchanging Valentine cards (either homemade or store bought are great). Please encourage your child to write the names on the cards for penmenship practice. We will also be building a friendship fruit salad with the children. Just like we are all different we come together to form greatness, we will be assembling a fruit salad with many different fruits for the children to mix and find delicious. A sign-up genius will be sent out to sign up for various fruits to add. Below you will find a list of the class names and the list will also be sent home in paper form for the children to use.

When your child is absent it is crucial that an excuse is submitted to the office as soon as possible after the absence. Ideally, a written note sent in and given to the teacher is the easiest way for us to turn these in. If you need to email the excuse we can print it out and turn it in. Please do not send excuses in via the remind app as it is very difficult for us to print these and turn them in. If you receive a reminder to send in excuses for past days please send these in as we will have to send additional reminders. All absences require an excuse. It can be a doctor's note or a simple parent note stating why your child was not at school.

It's time for conferences. Please schedule a time that works for your schedule. We are required to have 3 conferences each year so please take advantage of this opportunity to discuss your child's progress. Thank you!

In honor of Valentine's Day (friendship day at Ellis). The children are welcome to purchase carnations to celebrate with their friends. The carnations will be delivered Tuesday, February 14^th before dismissal.
