It's been a busy time in the Fox and Bear community as we practice our routines, introduce lessons, and complete the beginning-of-the-year assessments. We are enjoying getting to know one another better as the students settle in and let their personalities shine! Please see the following updates below and let us know if you have any questions. 

Volunteers Needed: We are interested in starting Friday afternoon club activities. If you have availability on Fridays from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm and are interested in leading or helping with an activity, please let us know. Club ideas include dance, yoga, crafts, games, etc.

Gifted Program: At Charles Ellis Montessori Academy, we are dedicated to providing a personalized and differentiated learning experience for every student. Our educators diligently tailor instruction to meet the unique needs of all learners, including those identified as gifted. Through individualized learning plans, advanced and enriching activities, and a supportive classroom environment, we ensure that each student is challenged and inspired to reach their fullest potential. We are committed to fostering a love of learning and helping every child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. 

Community snack: We plan, prepare, and serve snack as part of our practical life work each day. We ask that families please send in a $30 gift card to either Kroger or Aldi for each semester. If you would like to send $60 for the entire year, you are welcome to do so. 

Classroom Needs: Ziplock bags of all sizes! Reminder that all students must have a water bottle that closes and a pair of indoor slip-on shoes that remain here at school in their cubby.

Aug. 29: Donation Dress Down Day for $1. Can be paid with cash or at schoolcashonline.com

Aug. 30: SCCPSS e-Learning Half Day. Students will stay home this day and work remotely.

Welcome to the Fox and Bear Community! We are so excited to have the students back in the building for our first full week of school after a whirlwind start to the year. We will spend these first few weeks getting to know one another and learning the expectations and routines of our community. We have begun lessons and beginning-of-the year assessments to learn more about each student's starting place. Please see the list of key dates below. 

Dates to Remember

Aug. 16 - IReady Math Assessment. Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and eats a nutritious breakfast to help them do their best.  

Aug. 21 - School-wide Picture Day. This is a free dress down (or dress UP!) day for all students.

Aug. 23 - IReady Reading Assessment

Aug. 29 - Donation Dress Down Day. Students may dress out of uniform for $1.00 to support a worthy cause. 

Aug. 30 - E-learning Half Day. Students will not be in the building this day but will work from home for the first half of the day. More information to come.

Please note: Every student must have a water bottle that closes with their name clearly labeled. If possible, we would like water bottles to remain at school during the week. We will send them home on Fridays to be washed.
