Fox and Bear Community

It's a busy, fun time at Charles Ellis right now! We enjoyed a wonderful concert at our Musical Explorers Field Trip last week. This week, visitors from the Tybee Island Marine Science Center will be here to do a presentation on whales for our students. We will be taking the mid-year iReady Assessments on Wednesday and Friday mornings this week. Please try to ensure that your student gets plenty of rest, eats a healthy breakfast, and gets to school on time.

Thank you to everyone for your generous donations to our Angel Tree students! We are thrilled to provide a bounty of gifts for our two sponsored Angels.

Festival of Lights is Thursday. Students should arrive at 5:30 pm at the back playground and will sing immediately after the 4th and 5th grade strings performance. They are welcome to dress up in their favorite festive attire if they would like to. Parent should bring a lawn chair or blanket.

All-School Sing Along: Families are invited to join us on Friday, 12/20 at 1:30 pm on the back playground for the all-school holiday sing along. You may sign your students out from there.

Also on Friday, 12/20, the Fox & Bear community will be having our Peace and Giving Celebration. Please see information below and reach out with any questions.

Boosterthon T-shirts: Please take a moment to fill out this brief form with your student's T-shirt size for Boosterthon (coming up in February.) T-shirts are provided for FREE by our PTA and their generous business donors.

Important Upcoming Dates:
12/6 - 12/12: Ellis Book Fair in the Media Center. More info on the hours and how to set up an e-Wallet can be found here
12/11: I-ready Winter Assessment for Math

Peace and Giving Celebration

Our Ellis Families are so kind and gracious, especially at this time of the year. As you are shopping for gifts in the upcoming weeks, in lieu of teacher gifts, please keep our classroom needs in mind.

The children will be talking, writing, and learning about how sharing and thinking of the needs of the whole class makes a peaceful classroom.  To become a peacekeeper is our goal.

Please look over our wish list. If you wish to purchase a gift for the class, send the wrapped gift in by Thursday, December 19.  Please label your child’s gift with his/her name.   We will open up gifts together during our celebration. The children will gain a stronger sense of responsibility for our community resources, and will, of course, be thrilled to see “their gift” put to use.  If you are unable to send in a gift...do not worry….We will have several gifts that we have purchased on hand for the children to open so that no one is left out at gift opening time!
